As a team we hit 335 in the rankings and nearly 1.3 Billion points!

Kinja'd!!!

My compute power crossed me over the 100,000,000 point mark in the early hours of today too !

Thanks for everyone that’s folded with us - this has been a fun distraction from the crazy damn world out there right now and we’re doing some good while at it.

Definitely! You're putting down some serious points here, way to go. Summer is pretty much here so I'll dial back from 11 here as I've crossed the 100 oppoflop mark and I think you'll make up some ground at that point.

Maybe, but units are hard to come by and gaming has shifted the focus! Keep it up!

Set the rig under a tree!

I’ve got one in the basement that’ll stay cranking but the one in my office gets turned off during the day and only runs a few hours overnight.

I’ve been moving so I’ve been offline for around 2 weeks, I’ll be back up and running in the next day or two thankfully. Also, I have way too much stuff.

It’s fun how moving shows you that.  You look at things and ask ‘why the hell do I have you?’ over and over and over again as you go through your things...

Yup, though I never think that about this. ( mine isn’t the one pictured, that’s just a stock photo, but it’s the same make/model.)

I’ve overtaken Snuze, and NKato is next; I should have him by bedtime.

We are receding a bit, though. We drop CPUs by the day, and overnight, we slid from 326th place back to 327th. I think we will give up some more ground before the fall and cooler weather, and assuming that people will remain interested.

I am managing heat. The new card really does turn my computer into a space heater. Right now, I’m keeping the side cover of the case removed because the bulk of the case ventilation is static pressure. I bought a couple of 92mm fans to mount to the rear of the case drawing outward, and I may cut a couple of holes in the side case cover so that air can travel directly over the GPU. Also, I’m thinking that if I placed my machine in the crawlspace under the house, it would stay much cooler. The trouble with that plan is that the only convenient way to do that would have the case 15 or 20 feet from my desk and it might be a bit too humid under there, or dusty. Anyhow, I downloaded Afterburner and keeping the side cover off the case lowers the GPU temp by 10 degrees C.

Big cards do put out a ton of heat, the fans should help and depending on where your computer is a room fan would also help. Mine is well ventilated in the case, but it sits under a desk so when I’m folding I point a tower fan at the desk moving the air out from under it which also helps keep it cool.
